A door to door campaign was initiated by DWO through the volunteers of different institutions in the month of August. It was one of the hottest months of the year. But volunteers work hard on the field and off the field as well. The campaign was titled as #EducationForAll. It was door to door collection of books and clothes for underprivileged children in different parts of the city, Peshawar. Despite the harsh weather, morale of all the volunteers was high. The collected stuff was more than what was expected.

The whole campaign was run fantastically. But one final step, the distribution of collected stuff, was yet to be completed. For that a ceremony was conducted last week to close the event in a professional manner. The underprivileged children were the recipients of a small package (books, cloths and footwear) as well as chief guests of the event.

Books Distribution By Volunteers

All the volunteers were invited in a designated area (one of the Dosti Mobile School intervention areas). Few of the volunteers were used to be the part of teaching staff. So children cheered up to see them again in that evening and shared the past memories. Children were flying in the sky while collecting their books, clothes and footwear. Children took some photographs with their teachers and volunteers. They left no stone unturned to make the children feel that they have potential to walk with the society.

Finally, the children gave certificates and shirts to the volunteers to officially recognize the volunteer efforts. Remember those were the kids who were begging a few days ago and now they are on the other side of the table.  It seems a small step but it would eventually transform their lives.

Initiating an event needs energy, and enthusiasm towards the goal. And end result is inner happiness and loads of experience. There is no such formula for the perfect closing of a voluntarily event but to say thank you to the volunteers. Dosti welfare distributed appreciation certificates to the volunteers in recognition of their time and efforts for the cause.
