Dosti has initiated a community based sports programme for disadvantaged and marginalized children living in slum areas of Peshawar, Pakistan. Dosti organized a sports gala with the help of dedicated, hard-working staff and volunteer group who strive to create opportunities for kids to develop to their full potential. The kids might not have sports kits but they’ve got the biggest hearts and smiles and they love to play, have fun and just be Kids. It’s also good for their development, physically, mentally and spiritually.
About 20 volunteers and 40 school kids participated. there were about 500 spectators at the ground. The first match was played between DMS 2 and DMS 3. After a thrilling contest DMS 3 beat DMS 2 by 11 runs.
The second match was arranged for volunteers. Both teams were from Peshawar University. To add spice to the occasion some of Dosti staff members also participated in the match. Both the school kids and volunteers really admired the facilities provided to them. They cherished the occasion and celebrated it with a dance competition at the end. Customized T shirts and prizes were distributed among the participants.
