Self-sufficiency is an essential trait for children to learn. It adds a sense of confidence in their developing minds, especially during times of fear and uncertainty. Some very effective ways to teach them this trait is to let them play an active role in helping themselves by taking care of their personal needs, assisting their parents, and other family members. It is an excellent opportunity to teach them about personal hygiene, especially washing hands frequently, keeping their rooms and play areas well organized, and learning some board games. Learning to play chess could be a valuable personal accomplishment for a young man or woman. Engaging in sports on a beautiful day is great, but it has to be within a close circle of friends and family, making sure that the group has not been visited by someone from outside, especially from areas where COVID-19 has been reported.
